Life in the west has been a joy beyond anything I could have ever imagined. The weather, the mountains, the sky, the clouds all seem to just sing to me as I meander on the ranch and climb the rocky ledges that protrude from the land. I told the Lord I hope that I die in the west. Just let me die in my boots, and I’ll be a happy camper!
Even though life is great here, the Lord has in mind for me a business that travels, and once again he surprised me with a fabulous trip to England.
In January of 2009, a friend of mine in Pennsylvania had spent some time in Birmingham speaking to a black Jamaican charismatic church, and he told them about me. In February, I traveled to England for the first time and spoke in this church. My, could they sing! Only 100 in number, but they far out-sing our large congregation of 5,000! I ended up working hands-on with the pastor’s wife, and we organized her whole home. I was so impressed with her as after I gave the seminar, the following Sunday in church she actually gave my seminar over again in synopsis form, all by memory. She really got it!
What a joy to be able to serve the Body of Christ with my gifts. I love teaching about godly order. After all, He is the most organized being in the universe, and I personally know that He loves order. He is behind every word that I speak, as He wants His people to order their lives around godly priorities and purposes.
I met a gal there in Birmingham who expressed a real interest in becoming a professional organizer, and I have been mentoring her once every few weeks via phone and Skype since 2009.
I have found that people everywhere, England, Germany, Canada, have the same issues. Clutter and too much of everything, and it’s blocking out light and air! I hope that I have plenty more years to travel and offer this gift to whomever the Lord wants me to serve.
It is a practical gift but applies to our spirits in so many ways. The more organized you are, the more efficient and effective you are in serving the Lord and your coworkers, family and friends. When you are organized, the key characteristic you experience is peace, and isn’t peace one of the attributes most needed in our world today?
With order comes peace, and real peace liberates you to be all you can be for the Lord and your family.
