Help for the Hurried
How our habits of procrastination, perfectionism, piles of paperwork, poor planning and packed schedules can rob us of precious time.
There’s an old proverb that says, “The more you do of what you’re doing, the more you’ll get of what you’ve got.” If you want better results, you’ve got to change.
Our habits determine our outcomes. Good habits lead to good results, while poor habits lead to poor results.
Habits are key. The point is everything you do – all day long – either helps you move toward your objective, or it doesn’t. If it doesn’t help, it hinders. You want to avoid doing things that hinder whenever possible.
- It means managing ourselves. If time seems to be out of control, it means that we are out of control. To bring ourselves back under control, we must learn new, more appropriate behaviors and habits. Guilt about how you spend your time is a waste of time.
- Your habits are the key to good time management. The important point to remember, though, is that habits are learned behavior. Your habits may control your destiny, but you control your habits.
