How to Create a Happier Home, Family and Life
by Sue McMillin
The second in a series of three excerpts…
Several years ago, I spoke at a church in up-state New York. Before I gave the seminar to the church, I helped the pastor organize his office.
The next day, after the one-day seminar was over, his wife and I went back to his office to find the pastor sitting in his chair, leaning back with his hands behind his head and his feet on his desk.
Now that is not an unusual sight. Lots of men sit with their hands behind their heads, reared back with their feet on their desk. Many times that is how they do their best thinking.
What is so unusual about this story is that when we asked him what he had been doing that whole day while we were in the seminar…he said that the reason that he had spent so much time just sitting was he had never felt such peace [in his office].
He was basking in one of the key benefits of order: peace.
